13 definitions of Truth was one of the most important moments of my life. The Duet concert / recording was on November 27th, 2001 - we returned the next day to record more. It took place at b.p.m. - a multi-art space run by friends in Brooklyn, New York. The concert was our second collaboration and also a starting point of our very brief friendship...until Peter's last concert at b.p.m. (trio with Kasuhisa Uchihashi and guest Masahiko Kono) on September 20th, 2002. The concert was silent, aggressive...a different Air/Language...beautiful, and gouka.
Now, a year after the concert, listening to this CD so many times I Like it even more. Peter and I spent time discussing the release of this CD at St. Nick's Bar in Harlem and at the Vision Festival. We then spent time together to sequence and mix at his New York apartment and my home studio in the South Bronx. I would like to thank my friend, hero, great music partner, and father Peter Kowald (April 21st 1944 - September 21st 2002). - Tatsuya Nakatani
