Featuring Charlie Mariano on alto and soprano saxophone, it also brings some of the best jazz performers from Finland. Listen particularly to the counterpart tenor sax of Eero Koivistoinen one of Finlands rising young jazz artists who has played with some of the top groups throughout Europe.
Like its Scandinavian neighbor Denmark, Finland is hot bed of jazz tradition and the young musicians grow up on a diet of jazz laced with English and American rock. This album aptly demostrates that heritage with the electric guitar of Jukka Tolonen and electric piano of Olli Ahvenlahti complimenting the softer sounds of Mariano and Koivistoinen.
In addition to the two standards by Miles Davis and John Coltrane there are six originals giving the Finnish Jazzmen a chance to show their wares with Mariano.
