Mal Waldron was born in New York on 16 August 1925 (not 1926 as given in the reference books) and has lived in Europe since 1965. In September 1995, to mark his 70th year, he played a series of concerts at the Desingel Arts Centre in Antwerp with some very special guest - none more special than the legendary drummer Max Roach, a friend and colleague of Mal's over many years.
This unique recording preserves the complete concert by this duo, in fact more than the concert.
