Just a few words about thie very first record of Keith Jarrett as a leader of a beautiful trio. Two great musicians, one on drums, Paul Motian, who recorded the famous "Village Vanguard Sessions with Bill Evans. The second, on bass, present on the fist Ornette's records, Charlie Haden with who Jarrett will recorded two records in duo in 2010. May be, the best is yet to come, but two sides, one, more lyrical, the second, near from free forms of jazz, are here and will be two essentials directions of Jarrett's career. Today, the pianist will not give concerts, his hands can't play more. Thank you for giving us all his music. - Pierre Lepley
"... I must add a word about the recording session. It was done without any restrictions whatsoever on the music. Mr. Avakian supervised the recording but not one alteration in the music was made. I am extremely grateful for this.
About the beautiful being named Charlie Haden and Paul Motian, so much is said in the music they play that I Will refrain from giving you mere externals..." - Keith Jarrett
